Monte Além Tejo is located 17 km from Arraiolos, 20 km from Estremoz and 39 km from Evora. It is an easy 80 km drive from Spain. This is the perfect place for a holiday in the hills of the Alentejo, a place to recover your energy and to keep your mind and body free of distractions.
Monte Além Tejo has 5 suites, all with bathroom, air conditioning, coffee machine and TV. Outside is a vast garden which, together with a beautiful outdoor swimming pool, allows you to cool down from the scorching heat of the Alentejo plains. It is easy to discover the surrounding areas and feel the mountain air on foot or on one of the bicycles available on the property.
When you return, allow yourself to be lulled to sleep in a hammock while breathing in the pure air of the Alentejo countryside. The starry night sky is as clear as the air during the day.
On our property you can taste the best products of the region, including rustic breakfasts with Alentejo bread, honey, homemade jams, cheeses and fruit.
With 24-hour notice you can book an Alentejo dinner with a menu that we will provide at the time of booking. In the summer, guests can use the barbecue area and enjoy a good meal with friends and family.
As we love animals, we have three sheep and three little goats that like to play with us.
Monte Além Tejo is family friendly and allows you to bring your family dog (as long as they are well behaved and for a cost of 10 euros per stay).
Experiences provided by Monte Além Tejo include:
- Bike ride through the Alentejo plains
- Boat trip on the waters of the Maranhão, where you can dive and enjoy the sunset and drink a good Alentejo wine accompanied by regional cheese and charcuterie (with one-week prior notice in the summer)
- Guided tour to Monte da Ravasqueira with a visit to the Coach Museum (one of the largest private collections of carriages belonging to Mr. José Manuel de Mello) with a tasting of 3-5 different wines from the Ravasqueira brand.
