Grândola

Immortalised by José Afonso, the "morena" village of Grândola was used as a code for the Armed Forces Movement to initiate the carnation revolution, on April 25, 1974.

The county of Grândola has today a unique environmental and landscape richness, where there are high value ecosystems - the Sado Estuary Natural Reserve, the Tróia Dunes Botanic Reserve and the Grândola Mountain Range.

Among the several beaches of the county are those of Melides, Galé or Comporta.
